Who is the DSAT course for:

For dental staff who assist in office based minimal, moderate, and/or deep sedation.

 

The offering of sedation in dentistry is gaining widespread popularity, and certification to assist in dental sedation is also in high demand.  The self-paced, fully online DSAT program is centred on training dental staff on the fundamentals of patient care in a dental office where sedation and anesthesia are administered. Participants will learn how to operate within a team-based setting to ensure safe and effective management of patients across all levels of sedation and anesthesia. Using an online format, theoretical elements can be completed in a self-paced learning style. Once the participant completes the online modules, they are eligible to take their open-book online final exam.  (The entire course must be completed within 8 months).

What you will receive: 

Upon completing the course, participants will receive a Dental Sedation and Anesthesia Certificate. This certificate fulfils the British Columbia College of Oral Health Professionals (BCCOHP) sedation team training requirements, and successful participants are then licensed to assist in dental sedation. The DSAT program consists of 36 educational hours, and the certificate is valid for five years. At that point, participants must complete the DSAT Renewal (DSATr) course to maintain their license.

• Licensed Dental Assistants (formerly known as a CDA/RDH)

• Dental Hygienist

• RN

• LPN

DSAT Renewal Course: (For those who have taken the DSAT program and their certificate is still valid). $650.00
