Course Overview:
All PALS courses have been reformatted to include an online component:

The traditional 1 day PALS renewal course is now broken up into two portions. A self-paced online component to complete your prerequisites, including a BLS exam. (approx 1-2hrs).

This online component can be done anytime, at your own convenience, before the in-class portion.
​(Completion time: approx 1-2hrs)
In class portion:
-
(9am - 3:30pm): In-class instruction starting with BLS/ACLS skills assessments, and scenarios with other participants.

Prerequisites:
Each student should have a basic understanding of the following:

Basic Life Support is required before completion of the ACLS program, a BLS renewal certificate will be issued to you during the PALS course at no extra cost.

Recognition of common cardiac ECG rhythms
-
Effective management of airways and use of adjuncts
-
Knowledge of cardiac pharmacology

Description​
​
The PALS course will introduce you to a wide range of life-threatening scenarios involving pediatric patients experiencing: respiratory emergencies, shock and cardiopulmonary arrest.
The goal is to strengthen your ability to recognize sick children and provide the correct treatment, and how to work effectively as a critical member of a healthcare team during pediatric emergencies.
These simulations will involve:

Recognition of common pediatric cardiac ECG rhythms

Effective airway management and use of adjuncts

Knowledge of pediatric cardiopulmonary pharmacology

Practical management of complex cases

High-performance team skills

What to bring to class:

Please bring your own mask as we are practicing some restrictions due to COVID-19.​

Wear comfortable clothing as hands-on simulations are a part of the course.
